1.            Description of the discipline, its purpose, subject of study and learning outcomes

The aim of the discipline is to understand the comprehensive use of forest ecology in forestry practice and research. Also, the purpose of the discipline is to provide future bachelors with an in-depth study of forest ecology.

Main Tasks of the Course:

•             Mastering the laws of forest plantation development.

•             Study of the interaction between forests and environmental factors.

•             Study the impact of individual tree species and their communities on environmental factors and the environment in order to improve the ecological situation both in the forest and beyond.

Upon Completion of the Course, Students Should:

•             Know: the basics of forest ecology as a component of general ecology in terms of the functioning of forest ecosystems; the basics of technologies for the formation of forest plantations, close in structure, species composition and biodiversity to natural forest ecosystems.

•             Be Able to: monitor forest ecosystems with an assessment of the impact of external and internal factors on their condition; assess the compliance of technical, technological and organizational solutions in forestry with the principles of sustainable environmental management; present the results of comprehensive research in forest ecosystems in the form of scientific reports and presentations.
