Course purpose
The purpose of teaching the academic discipline “Youth Policy in the European Union” is to deepen theoretical knowledge and develop an understanding of the principles, institutions, and strategic instruments of EU youth policy. The course aims to form analytical and practical competencies for studying, designing, and implementing youth policies in accordance with European standards and approaches.
Object of the discipline
The object of the discipline is the system of public governance and strategic management in the field of youth policy within the European Union and its Member States.
Subject of the discipline
The subject of the discipline is the theoretical and methodological foundations, mechanisms, and tools of development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of youth policy in the European Union, as well as its adaptation in the context of European integration processes.
Objectives of the Discipline
The main objectives of studying this discipline are to:
– acquire theoretical knowledge of the principles and evolution of youth policy in the EU;
– understand the institutional, legal, and financial mechanisms that ensure the implementation of youth policy at the European level;
– develop analytical and strategic thinking skills for assessing and formulating youth policies;
– master the methods of designing and evaluating youth programs, strategies, and initiatives;
– strengthen communication and partnership competencies necessary for intersectoral and international cooperation in the youth sphere;
– form a value-based understanding of youth participation, inclusion, and empowerment in the European democratic context.
